Tourist tax is planned to be directed to natural parks maintenance in Bashkiria
The tourist tax, which is planned to be introduced in Bashkiria for visiting the most popular natural objects among the population, is planned to be directed to the maintenance and development of specially protected natural areas (SPNA), which include the natural parks of the republic.
“The working group is still being created, and we will consider different options,” said Salavat Nafikov, chairman of the State Committee for Tourism RB. “But the first option, where the funds will be directed, will be specially protected natural areas.”
Now, visitors to natural parks are already charged a fee, but due to a sharp increase in the tourist flow, its volume turns out to be insufficient for full cleaning and maintenance of territories. This leads to environmental problems and ruins the fragile balance of the ecosystem.
In accordance with the resolution of the Government RB, visitors to the Asly-Kul and Kandry-Kul parks are charged a fee of 150 rubles. It will cost 100 rubles to visit Iremel, Muradymovskoe Gorge and Zilim, and 90 rubles per day for entering by car. The collected funds are used for maintenance and improvement, primarily cleaning and garbage disposal. The state bears the costs of security — the regional budget allocates about 50 million rubles a year for these purposes.
