Kirsten Gainet's documentary "The Wife" won Greek Film Festival


A documentary film by a native of Bashkortostan Kirsten Gainet "The Wife" won the second prize at the VII International Documentary Film Festival in Greece.

"The Wife" is Kirsten Gynet's debut feature film, in which she also was a scriptwriter. The film represented the Russian Federation at the festival. It tells the story of a young Muslim woman and a mother of two small children. Alfinaz travels on a train to have a date with his husband serving a life sentence in the northern village of Kharp and tells her life.

The premiere of the film "The Wife" took place in Moscow in December 2019. Previously, the film was shown in Germany at the Golden tree international documentary film festival, in Romania at the Astra film festival, in Iraq at the Slemani film festival, in Moscow at the Artdokfest.
