Bashkiria agrarians have already harvested 850 thousand tons of grain despite bad weather
Despite unfavorable weather conditions, the harvesting campaign in Bashkiria is proceeding rapidly, stated the first deputy minister of agriculture of the region Ramil Nuriakhmetov at a briefing session in the government.
As of August 8, farmers mowed 69 percent of winter crops and 7 percent of spring crops, threshed 850 thousand tons of grain, significantly ahead of last year's indicators.
The average yield also increased — by seven centners per hectare. As Ramil Nuriakhmetov stressed, this was mainly due to the widespread use of mineral fertilizers, as well as to the increase in the area sown with elite seeds.
The leaders in grain yield this year are Buzdyaksky, Ilishevsky, Chekmagushevsky, Karmaskalinsky, and Aurgazinsky districts. Meanwhile, the agrarians of some regions of Bashkiria have already begun sowing winter crops for the harvest of 2021.
"We really hope that you will please us with good results this year. For our part, we will think about supporting the farmers. I am talking about the purchase of equipment, mineral fertilizers, elite seeds", said the Head of the Region Radiy Khabirov.
