Bashkiria was among the finalists of the federal competition for the creation of tourist and recreational clusters and the development of eco-tourism in Russia. This became known today, July 28, following a meeting of the competition committee chaired by Sergey Ivanov, special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Environmental Protection, Ecology and Transport.

"The finalists included 30 constituent entities of the Russian Federation from 7 federal districts. The leader in the number of projects that reached the final was the Far Eastern Federal District — 7 projects. The second place in the number of finalists was taken by the Volga Federal District — 6 projects. The third place was shared by the North-Western, Central, and Siberian Federal Districts — 5 projects in each. In the Southern Federal District, 4 projects reached the final, in the Ural Federal District — 2," the official website of the competition says.

Two projects apply for a federal grant and ASI professional support from Bashkiria. Among them — "Mighty Iremel", which includes the territory of the "Iremel" natural park and the state nature reserve "Ural-Tau".

The second project — "Heart of Bashkiria", it includes the "Zilim" natural park, the "Bashkiria" national park, Mount Tratau, Tolparovskie fir-groves, the Kinderlinskaya-Ledneva-Oktyabrskaya cave system, Lake Tugar-salgan, the Askynskaya ice cave.

According to experts, Bashkiria has enormous potential for the development of domestic tourism and eco-tourism. The main advantages of the republic are its convenient geographical location and diverse, picturesque nature.
