UFA, 18 October 2019. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
In 2017, a memorandum on the town twinning of Ufa and Astana was signed, which now bears the name of the first president of Kazakhstan. The past two years have shown the need for more efficient use of the huge potential of bilateral contacts on common multicultural values and traditions of a single Eurasian space. It was discussed at the round table held in Nur-Sultan, in which a delegation from Bashkortostan took part. The main topic of discussion was issues of strengthening friendship and cooperation between Kazakhstan and Bashkortostan, and through it with all of Russia.
It was deemed appropriate to implement this cooperation with the establishment of constant contacts at the municipal and regional level, and, above all, in the format of the cities of Nur-Sultan and Ufa. An agreement was reached on involving scientific, educational, spiritual institutions, as well as public organizations of the two capitals in the implementation of these intentions.
This idea was at the core of the “Threads of Friendship” project considered at the round table. It was initiated by the youth public organization “Intellectual Way”, the headquarters of which are headed by its leader Dmitry Grachev in Ufa. From the Kazakh side, this idea was supported by the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University and the public association "Zhokan Zholdary", the organizers of the meeting in Nur-Sultan informed.
