UFA, 22 May 2019. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
At Ufa airport, a sniffer dog found a large undeclared amount of money on a passenger flying to Baku. According to the Bashkortostan Customs, the Belgian Shepherd Nerika pointed to a man who had a Udmurt registration and, as it turned out, a large amount of money: 10 thousand dollars (more than 640 thousand rubles), 100 thousand rubles, 500 Azerbaijani manats (almost 19 thousand rubles at the current exchange rate).
Altogether, this exceeded the allowed rate of $ 10,000, which is not subject to mandatory declaration. A total of 100 thousand rubles and 500 manats became the subject of an offense.
The passenger stated that he did not know the customs rules. However, he will have to pay an administrative fine in the amount of half to twice the undeclared amount or lose them. Punishment will be appointed by a court. Until it is resolved, the money will be kept in the storage of material evidence of the customs.
