Belarus has set goal to increase trade turnover with Bashkiria by 7% this year

UFA, 22 May 2019. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.

On May 21, an agreement on cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Bashkortostan and the Minsk branch of the Belarusian CCI was signed in Ufa.

The trade turnover between the two republics over the past three years almost doubled from $ 372 million in 2016 to 734 million in 2019. According to the head of the department of the Embassy of Belarus in Ufa, Peter Baltrukovich, in 2019 he was tasked by the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to increase mutual trade with Bashkiria by another 7%.

According to the Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Bashkortostan for Foreign Economic Relations Ruslan Mirsayapov, Bashkortostan is interested in localizing the production of Belarusian machinery in Bashkortostan, and not only agricultural equipment for the agro-industrial complex.

Regarding the new level of interaction between the chambers of commerce and industry, Mirsayapov said that the exchange of delegations would continue so that Bashkir enterprises would have new opportunities for cooperation in a reasonably understandable and open market in Belarus.

During the meeting, it was noted that the Belarusian side is expecting to welcome the Bashkortostan delegation next year. In addition, it is planned to sign an agreement between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Bashkortostan in a new edition at the sixth forum of the region "Belarus — Russia" in the city of St. Petersburg in July.

We remind that on May 20-21, a delegation of the Republic of Belarus headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian State Oil and Chemistry Concern Belneftekhim Andrei Bunakov is in Bashkiria. The delegation includes representatives of the major enterprises of the Republic of Belarus, including the factories-manufacturers of MAZ vehicles, MTZ tractors, Amkodor loaders.

Today, Belarus takes the second place among 118 partner countries of the Republic of Bashkortostan in foreign trade (after Latvia). Refrigerators, freezers, cars, trucks, washing machines, fiberglass, transformers, cheeses and cottage cheese, furniture are delivered from Belarus to Bashkiria. Oil and gas condensate, carbonates, cyclic hydrocarbons, and other products of oil, gas, and chemical processing are exported from Bashkiria to the Republic of Belarus.
