A Japanese schoolboy Hayato Ohta became a guest of Ufa State Aviation Technical University (USATU), met with the rector and spoke about his desire to study at USATU, “to build rockets and airplanes”.
The seventeen-year-old Hayato Ohta lives in Shizuoka on the island of Honshu near the famous Mount Fuji. He arrived in Bashkiria under the international school exchange program.
The schoolboy from the Land of the Rising Sun studies mathematics and physics in depth at school No. 8 of the city of Tuimazy and lives in the family of its director Tatyana Soboleva.
The acquaintance with the university began with a meeting with the rector. Nikolai Krioni welcomed the guests, spoke about the university, invited the Japanese school student to study and handed him a company gift as a memory of the meeting.
Hayato visited the museum of aircraft engines, reviewed its exhibits and met with the students. The next point of the excursion was a Center for Space Information Receiving and Processing at the department of telecommunication systems, where the guest was shown an engineering model of the student satellite UGATUSAT. At the end of the tour, Hayato visited the monument to Yuri Gagarin.
“I liked your university,” he said at parting, “it's so big and beautiful! There are so many students studying here. I would like to speak the language of Gagarin well and come here to study. My dream is to become an engineer, build rockets and airplanes!”
