Scientific forum for 100th anniversary of Bashkortostan gathered 500 scientists from different regions and countries in Ufa

In Ufa, about 500 scientists from different regions and countries gathered at the “Unity. Citizenship. Patriotism" scientific forum. The event is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Today its grand opening took place at the "Toratau" Congress Hall.
Participants and audience members were greeted by the Chairman of the State Assembly RB Konstantin Tolkachev. He noted that the tasks of the formation of citizenship and patriotism in our days were becoming strategic and were set by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin as national ideas.
The forum is attended by leading scientists from Bashkortostan, Moscow, St. Petersburg. Among the participating countries are the countries of the near abroad — Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan. Representatives of republics and districts within the Russian Federation — Tatarstan, the Chuvash Republic, the Republic of Khakassia, Dagestan, Kalmykia, Chechnya, the Crimea, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District — Ugra are active participants in the forum. Among the participants are also representatives of the Sverdlovsk, Samara, Orenburg, Voronezh, Vladimir and Tyumen regions, Perm and Krasnodar Territories, Tyumen.
“The anniversary that you are celebrating today is the experience with which we check what kind of Federation we have,” said Leocadia Drobizheva, head of the Center for the Study of Inter-Ethnic Relations of the Institute of Sociology, Russian Academy of Sciences. “Strengthening unity is one of the main directions of national policy, and it is the experience of such entities of the federation as Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, and the Volga republics that is of tremendous importance for us.”
Seven breakout sessions are held at the Congress Hall and the Institute of History and Public Administration of Bashkir State University as part of the forum.
Specialists in the field of historical, legal, economic sciences, management issues of state-building, and national policy make presentations at the forum. The sections work on the themes of the state-legal status of the Bashkir people in a historical retrospective; on the experience of nation-building in the Soviet era; on the role of industrial modernization in the fate of the peoples of the USSR, the spiritual and cultural development of the peoples of Russia in the 20th century. A number of topics relate to the history and development of our republic — “Bashkortostan in the military history of Russia of the 20th century”, “Bashkortostan at the turn of the millennia: socio-economic realities and development prospects”, “National policy as a tool for strengthening civil identity in the Republic of Bashkortostan”.
On March 23, a scientific session of undergraduate and graduate students will be held at the Institute of History and Public Administration of Bashkir State University, including a master class on topical issues of Russian history of the twentieth century, which will take place at the Historical Park “Russia is my history”.
According to the results of the forum, a collection of scientific papers will be published.
