Seven Bashkortostan draughts players participate in World Cup in Turkey

On September 16, the Turkish Open International Tournament with the participation of 38 draughts players from Asia, America, Africa and Europe began in the Turkish city of Izmir. There are 12 sportsmen from Russia, more than half of them represent the draughts club "Bashkortostan": Alexander Georgiev, Tamara Tansykkuzhina, Aigul Idrisova, Kristina Osipova, Aliya Aminova, Murodullo Amrillaev, and Agata Parahina.
The composition of the tournament is truly champion-like. Total, 18 international grandmasters, four international masters, six masters of the World Draughts Federation are competing for the victory. In addition, 24 men and 14 women will play in a single tournament, per nine games.
The winners of the finals of the World Cup among men and women held in March 2017 in Ufa, Alexei Chizhov and Aigul Idrisova played in the first round. The second round was marked by a meeting of nine-time world champion Alexander Georgiev and five-time world champion Tamara Tansykkuzhina. Both matches ended in the victory of men.
After the second round, the Bashkortostan draughts players showed the following results. Georgiev scored 3 points out of 4 possible; further, 2 points out of 4: Tansykkuzhina, Aminova, Osipova, Parahina, Aminova; after them, Amrillaev, Idrisova – per 1.
In the third round, Alexander Georgiev plays black with the vice-champion of Belarus Olga Fedorovich, and Murodullo Amrillaev plays white with the Dutch champion Verhil Heike. Aigul Idrisova will play with the Dutchman Andy Damen. The Bashkir derby will feature Tansykkuzhina — Parahina, Osipova — Aminova.
The stage of the Turkish Open World Cup will end on September 22.
