Bashkir Culture Day was held in St. Petersburg

The Bashkir Culture Day was held at the Russian Ethnographic Museum of St. Petersburg. The official guests were the authorized representative of the Republic of Bashkortostan under the President of the Russian Federation, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government RB, Artur Shainurov, the expert of the Department for Interethnic Relations and Coordination of State Programs of the Committee for Interethnic Relations and Migration Policy of the St. Petersburg Government Andrey Frolov, the Director of the St. Petersburg House of Nationalities Elena Kuznetsova, the Head of the Executive Committee "World Kurultay of Bashkirs" Alsu Sirgalina.
During the day, in the forehall of the museum, a film was shown about the beauty of the Bashkir region, the traditional culture of the Bashkir people. Demonstration master classes on making souvenirs in the traditional style were held, excursions were organized around the museum's expositions. Creative groups of the Bashkirs of St. Petersburg — "Irendek", "Amanat" band, artists from Ufa gave a folklore concert there.
Within the framework of the Bashkir Culture Day, the Kurultay of Bashkirs of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region also took place, which gathered 178 delegates. A decision was made to unite the Bashkir associations of St. Petersburg and create a single organization — the Bashkir Congress of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region ("Kurultay"). An executive committee in the number of 18 people, was elected, a resolution was adopted. Shamil Mutalov was elected the chairman of the Bashkir Congress of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. Letters of gratitude were handed over for popularization and development of Bashkir culture in the Northern capital.
At the round table on "Cultural Traditions of the Bashkir People", dedicated to the forthcoming 100th anniversary of the founding of Bashkortostan Republic, the "Epos" theatre-studio (head Alexander Filimonov) showed the "Legend of the Ural Batyr" performance, the head of the press centre of the Bashkortostan Plenipotentiary Office in Moscow Gulchachak Khannanova informs.
