Best young chemists of country came to Ufa

The best young chemists of the country gathered in Ufa at the 25th Mendeleev Conference of Young Scientists — the final stage of the Mendeleev Chemistry Students' Contest. This prestigious scientific forum brings together young scientists ready to share their discoveries. This year 208 young experts from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Kazan, Ivanov and Samara — a total of 25 cities were invited to the Bashkir capital.
The capital of the republic becomes a venue for the scientific forum for the second time. Organizers note that Bashkortostan is the largest petrochemical region, and the most important centres for training specialists of this industry are located in Ufa.
The Rector of Bashkir State University Nikolai Morozkin became the Chairman of the All-Russian Forum Organizing Committee, and Rinat Akhmetkhanov, the Dean of the Chemical Department, became his deputy.
The conference will last until April 28. The work will be carried out in two areas — poster sessions and oral presentations. According to the chairman of the jury Mikhail Egorov (Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the President of the NPP "Chemical and Environmental Education Promotion"), the winners will be 30-35 authors, among which gold, silver and bronze medalists will be distributed, and the winner of the medal "The Future of Russian Chemistry" - the highest award in the Mendeleev Contest, the press centre of Bashkir State University reports.
