2573 children were born in Ufa for two months

In Ufa a natural increase in population is marked. In January-February of this year, 2,573 children were born in the Bashkir capital. 2080 people died. The natural increase in the population of Ufa was 493 people. Such data was announced today at a daily briefing in the capital administration.
As reported by the Bashinform News Agency, as of January 1, 2017, the population of Ufa was 1 125 612 people. This is 4,383 people, or by 0.4 percent more than a year ago.
Currently, almost 28% of Bashkortostan population lives in Ufa. Of the total urban population of the republic, Ufa accounts for about 44 percent.
Last year, for the first time in 29 years, the highest birth rate was registered in Ufa. In the capital of the republic, 18,165 children were born. In 2016, the peak of the birth rate of the 1980s was practically reached. Thus, 18 767 children were born in Ufa in 1987.
Simultaneously with the increase in the birth rate in Ufa, there is a tendency to mortality decline. In 2016, this figure was 12,668 people. The natural increase in the population, respectively, was 5497 people.
Thus, the capital of Bashkortostan retains the position of the leader among the Russian million cities in terms of natural population growth.
