Meeting of Joint Working Group co-chairs in "Volga-Yangtze" format was held in Ufa

On April 12, in Ufa a regular meeting of the co-chairs of the Joint Working Group in the "Volga-Yangtze" format was held. Representatives of the regions of the Volga Federal District, including Bashkortostan, took part in it from the Russian side. "Today, we summed up our cooperation development and identified the main activities of preparation for the second meeting of the Volga-Yangtze format Council to be held this summer in the Chinese province of Sichuan," the Deputy Presidential Envoy to the Volga Federal District Aleksey Sukhov told the press. To date, there are 27 framework agreements between the Volga Federal District regions and the Upper Middle Yangtze River regions. Another 10 such agreements are planned to be signed in the summer at the upcoming Council.
"The agreed list of investment projects consists of 58 items. Of these, 18 are being implemented and 40 are under consideration by the parties. Cooperation in the humanitarian sphere is considered as very important. To date, about 30 items of the roadmap for the humanitarian cooperation development have been implemented and about 70 new proposals are under consideration. As a result of today's meeting more than 100 proposals of the Russian side were submitted to Chinese partners," Alexey Sukhov informed.
According to the Government of Bashkortostan, 22 enterprises with the participation of Chinese capital, which appeared as a result of the work of the Volga-Yangtze format, operate successfully in the republic. "Today, about five large investment projects are at our various stages of execution. Among them there are new manufactures: a building materials plant, a line for assembling light agricultural tractors, a sugar beet processing plant," said Arthur Shainurov, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic.
China is on the third place in the list of Russian 100 main trading partners.
