UFA, 27 March 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Alfiya Agliullina/.
The Ufa native Anton Babikov won bronze in a pursuit race at the Russian Biathlon Championships. The championship of the country is taking place these days in Uvat (Tyumen region) in the framework of the 1st All-Russian Spartakiad of the strongest sportsmen.
The first was Tyumen biathlete Yevgeny Garanichev with not a single miss at four standings. Silver was won by Semen Suchilov.
"After three races in a row in Oslo and a difficult flight, I did not manage to get ready for the sprint. This, of course, affected the shooting. My functional state was good, but the skis did not slide very well. I understood that Semen Suchilov was faster than me on the slopes and it would be difficult to compete with him. Nevertheless, I am pleased that I still have strength to compete. The pursuit races are particularly interesting. I seldom have perfect sprints and start in pursuit from the first positions, therefore I always have to catch up", the website of the Union of Biathletes of Russia cites the sportsman.
