Farms number is growing in Bashkiria

The number of farms is growing in Bashkortostan. By the beginning of this year there were more than 6,1 thousand farms in the republic.
As noted at the meeting of the Union of Agricultural Producers RB, Bashkortostan shows good performance in comparison with other regions. In the rating of the Russian Federation in terms of gross production, farmers of the republic occupy the 11th place, in the Volga Federal District — the fourth place.
The share of peasant (farmer) households in production of the main types of agricultural products increases from year to year. Thus, by the end of 2016 the farmers of Bashkortostan produced one third of the grain, the fourth part of sunflower, the fifth – of sugar beet, as well as 14 percent of the vegetables, 5.4 percent of meat and nine percent of milk.
The special programs aimed at developing and supporting farms, namely "Beginner Farmer" and "Support for Family Livestock Farms" greatly assisted farmers.
According to the Minister of Agriculture RB Ilshat Fazrakhmanov, over 650 farmers became participants of these programs. The total amount of state support provided amounted to about 1.2 billion rubles. This allowed purchasing more than 7.7 thousand heads of cattle, 1.8 thousand horses, 7.8 thousand sheep, 6.3 thousand birds, as well as 339 tractors and 1.1 thousand units of agricultural machinery and equipment.
More than 1.5 thousand new jobs have been created over four years of these programs implementing.
