Rustem Khamitov congratulated biathlete Anton Babikov on his victory at Biathlon World Championships

On February 18, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov in a telephone conversation congratulated the Russian biathlete, Ufa resident Anton Babikov on his victory in a relay race as part of the men's team at the world championships held in the Austrian Hochfilzen.
The Head of the Republic noted that he had wished the athlete to become an Olympic champion and world champion during their meeting in spring 2016. The success of Anton Babikov at this championship was the first step toward this dream.
Rustem Khamitov said that he had watched the race on television and with the Russian team was happy about this victory. He told his best wishes to all the coaches and stressed that he would necessarily meet with the biathlete on his return.
Recall that on February 18, the Russian men's team including Alexey Volkov, Maxim Tsvetkov, Anton Babikov and Anton Shipulin scored a victory having passed the four stages of 7.5 km for 1 hour 14 minutes 15 seconds as part of the relay race at the Biathlon World Cup. The second place went to France, the third – to Austria. Thus, the Russians went into the lead in the overall standings of the discipline in the World Cup.
