UFA, 17 February 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/.

On February 17, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov presented state awards of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Bashkortostan. Professional achievements of 50 employees of industry, energy, construction, housing and utilities, forestry, agriculture, public service, municipal management, rescue services, legal, banking and social services, business and trade, physical education and sports, press and media, culture and art were marked with orders, marks of distinction, honourary diplomas, titles and certificates of gratitude.

Congratulating the awardees, the Head of the Region noted that the republic had started the year successfully.

“In January we have positive figures both in terms of tax revenues with very decent increase compared to January last year, and in index of industrial production, which amounted to 107.9 percent. This suggests that our companies operate well — and the long-awaited increase in production is coming,” Rustem Khamitov said.

The Head of the Republic especially thanked veterans for their contribution to the socio-economic development of Bashkortostan.

“I would like to thank them for the work they have performed over the years”, said Rustem Khamitov. “Now we are where we are due to the efforts of the older generation. The merits of retired people, of course, are invaluable. And today's awards are a small portion of gratitude that we feel towards the deserved workers.”

Full transcript of the speech and the list of awardees are published on the official website of the Head of the Republic.
