Cut forests are being fully restored in Bashkiria
UFA, 15 February 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/.
In Bashkortostan the cut forests are almost completely being restored. Reforestation of clear-cut harvesting areas amounted to 98 percent in 2016 with planned 82. This was announced at the final board of the Ministry by the Minister of Forestry RB Dinir Akhmedyanov. The volume of timber harvesting amounted to 33 percent with planned 31. "Currently, the volume of timber harvesting is not fully performed by the tenants. Wood of coniferous trees is cut but soft-wooded broadleaf is cut insufficiently. The primary objective of the tenants is to improve the situation", said the Minister.
Inspectors of the department spent about 33 thousand patrols the forest fund territory for a year, carried out 30 inspections of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs. "Compared to the last year the number of inspections has decreased by more than 10 times, which is associated with adoption of a three-year moratorium on planned inspections in relation to small businesses. For the same reason, the inspection plan for 2017 included a total of 18 forest users", the ministry explained.
Last year structural reorganization of the forest management system was carried out in the republic — inter-territorial departments of forest control were established. The objectives of the newly established entities are to provide a central register of payments receipt and organization of debt collection and reducing the level of arrears for the use of the forest fund.
