HC Salavat Yulaev lost during overtime in dramatic match in Kazan

The KHL championship match HC Ak Bars – HC Salavat Yulaev (Ufa) finished in Kazan.
It was the third meeting between rivals in this season.
In the first period Alexander Loginov used the powerplay and the guest team led 1: 0. But then the Kazan players scored twice — 2: 1.
The second period was the most productive in this match. First Linus Umark equalized during the next powerplay — 2: 2. Then Alexander Nesterov brought the Ufa club forward — 3: 2, and then Tomas Myrtle made the score 4: 2 in favour of Salavat Yulaev.
Justin Azevedo and Vladimir Tkachev returned the situation to the starting point — 4: 4.
Alexander Loginov answered with his second goal in the match and as it turned out the last by Ufa players — 5: 4.
The third period was disappointing for Salavat Yulaev again. When it was coming to a close, the home team left the net empty and immediately leveled the score — 5: 5.
And in the first minute of the overtime Niklas Svedberg missed the goal by Lukoyanov — 6: 5 — a victory of HC Ak Bars, the first in this championship against the Ufa team.
The Ufa club will play the next away match against the HC Vityaz (Moscow Region) on January 23.
