Two cities of Bashkortostan became priority development territories

The cities of Kumertau and Belebey became priority development areas (PDAs). The Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a corresponding decree.
As part of the execution of orders mentioned in the Address by Rustem Khamitov, the cities of Kumertau and Belebey defended projects at the Monocities Development Fund in March 2016 to be included in the PDAs list. It was preceded by a series of meetings and conferences held by the Head of the Republic with the Monocities Development Fund and Vnesheconombank. The management teams of these cities have been trained at the Moscow "Skolkovo" Management School on the program of the Monocities Development Fund.
In December 2016 a Project Office for the development of monocities was created by the Decree of the Government RB. The aim of its creation was to organize planning and control over project activities on making favourable conditions for attracting investments, ensuring rapid socio-economic development and comfortable environment in the territories of single-industry municipal formations in Bashkortostan.
Core enterprises of the two single-industry towns are JSC "Kumertau Aviation Production Enterprise" and JSC "Belebeevsky Plant "Avtonormal".
A new solvent-extraction plant worth about 6 billion rubles by the "Sigma" company will become the first and largest resident of Kumertau PDA. In Belebey it is planned to implement five investment projects worth 8 billion rubles.
In 2017 four monocities of the republic plan to apply for including in the PDA list – Beloretsk with Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant by "Mechel" group, Neftekamsk (NefAZ of KamAZ group), Blagoveshchensk ("Polief" — SIBUR) and Uchaly (Uchalinsky Mining Plant of UMMC group). Beloretsk and Neftekamsk are related to cities with risks of socio-economic situation deterioration, Blagoveshchensk and Uchaly – to single-industries formations with stable socio-economic situation, the Government of Bashkortostan informs.
