Bashkir writer Marsel Salimov was awarded international prize and Japanese medal

A ceremony of awarding writers with outstanding creative achievements in the current literary year took place in Moscow. The board of the International Union of Writers and Journalists invited well-known maîtres from the Russian regions and CIS countries to arrive in the capital. Our countryman, the winner of many Russian and international literary awards and contests Marsel Salimov was among the honoured guests.
As Bashinform News Agency reported, our famous Bashkir satirist was recognized as one of the winners of the International Prize named after Vladimir Gilyarovsky this year. In a solemn atmosphere he was handed over a certificate and a decoration of this prestigious literary award.
He was also awarded the Japanese Matsuo Basho medal for winning the international competition named after the great poet of the rising sun country. Previously, he was awarded a diploma of the Matsuo Basho international literary contest for his poems in the Japanese language.
