"France on Old Postcards" exhibition opens in Ufa

The National Museum of the Republic of Bashkortostan opens the "France on Old Postcards" exhibition from the private collection of A. Smirnov on December 16. The visitors will be able to see cards issued to outstanding historical events, with the views of French cities and Paris, Christmas and New Year ones, postcards with places associated with the history of Russia: Alexander III Bridge, Sebastopol Boulevard and St. Alexander Nevsky Orthodox Cathedral in Paris. Old postcards — witnesses of history, preserved views of lost sites that no longer exist in France, the press service of the museum informs.
The year of 2016 was declared the year of cross-culture and tourism of Russia and France. In Paris a Russian Orthodox Spiritual and Cultural Centre was opened, which will host the International Peter's Congress. In 2017 it will be marked the 300th anniversary of the visit of the Russian Emperor Peter the Great in Paris and the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and France.
The National Museum of Bashkortostan celebrates memorable dates in the history of Russian-French relations with the exhibition of French postcards published at the beginning of the last century.
