Kumertau and Belebey soon will become special development territories

The decision to include Kumertau and Belebey in Priority Social and Economic Development Areas (PDAs) may be taken in the near future, said at a meeting with regional reporters the RF President Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich. "Two more documents on Kumertau and Belebey are under completion — now they are going through approvals, there are no any objections to the submitted documents", the Envoy explained. Mikhail Babich did not rule out that the decision on the two Bashkir cities may be taken already in December.
Recall that of six single-industry towns in Bashkortostan cities of Kumertau and Belebey advanced more than others in obtaining a status of priority development areas, which promises benefits to its residents. In Kumertau one project has already started – a construction of an oil extraction complex. Applications are being collected from residents to open new productions: clothing and confectionary factories, a furniture company. The city signed an agreement with the Mono-cities Development Fund about a year ago. Such an agreement was also concluded with Belebey. Under the agreement, the Fund will help the cities to attract investment for 14 billion rubles, and will also hold training of specialists for work in PDAs.
