UFA, 14 October 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/.
The World Standards Day is on October 14. In 1925, in the Soviet Union a Committee for Standardization under the Council of Labour and Defense was created, which was involved in the development and approval of all-union standards. On October 14, 1946, a conference of national standards bodies opened in London, where the International Organization for Standardization was established — ISO. To date, the ISO structure includes 163 countries with its standardization institutions, including Russia.
In Bashkiria an appropriate organization appeared in December 1902. According to the resolution of the country's finance minister the 20th Ufa verification pavilion was open to oversee the use of weights and measures in Ufa and Orenburg provinces. It was subordinate to the Main Chamber of Weights and Measures. For a century the institution underwent a series of transformations. Today, standardization and metrology issues are issued by "State Regional Centre for Standardization, Metrology and Testing in the Republic of Bashkortostan" Federal State-Funded Institution. Now in Russia there are 30 thousand operating standards.
