Today is State Symbols Day of Bashkortostan

More than 20 years ago, on October 12, 1993 the state symbols of Bashkortostan — the emblem and anthem of the republic were approved. The birth of the most important symbols occurred due to the new status of the republic proclaimed on October 11.
The State Emblem of the region depicts the Salavat Yulaev Monument, which is a symbol of the peoples’ courage. The national hero is riding a horse on the background of the rising sun — embodiment of people's desire for freedom. The Kurai flower is an embodiment of unity.
The work under the emblem lasted more than one and a half years. Total 40 projects were submitted for the competition.
The Anthem of Bashkortostan is a solemn melody written by Farit Idrisov. The authors of the words in the Bashkir language are Ravil Bikbaev and Rashit Shakur, and translation into Russian was made by Farit Idrisov, Svetlana Churaeva.
