UFA, 30 September 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/.
The Russian Federal Security Service in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior of Russia and with the support of the National Guard troops stopped the activities of members of ethnic organized crime groups. They were engaged in illegal legalization of foreigners in Russia, including those involved in terrorist activities. It is reported by the FSB.
While investigating a criminal case on preparation of a terrorist attack in Ufa in April this year, the data were obtained that the organizers and performers used fake identity documents. Then, in the territory of the Moscow region a criminal network was discovered mainly composed of citizens of the Central Asian region. They forged documents and were engaged in legalization of migrants in Russia.
In September 2016 criminal proceedings were instituted under article "Illegal Migration" and on September 29 in Moscow and the Moscow region, more than 100 members of criminal gangs were detained — the citizens of CIS countries. Four of them were internationally wanted on suspicion of extremist activities, while 35 were in the territory of Russia in violation of immigration laws and were subject for deportation.
The detainees were taken to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow for questioning. Additional investigative measures are being conducted.
