Two Bashkortostan cities claim for priority development area status
UFA, 29 September 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Arina Rakhimkulova/.
The two cities of Bashkortostan can get a status of the priority development area (PDA). Applicants are the cities of Kumertau and Belebey. It will contribute to attracting investors, building new businesses, increasing in number of jobs.
The PDA status is acquired for 10 years with an option to extend for five years and involves tax benefits, reduced rents and tariffs on insurance payments for all residents of the priority development area. The threshold of the minimum capital investment in the framework of investment projects may not be less than 5 million rubles, thus at least 20 jobs should be created. Since the main purpose of PDA formation in mono-cities is diversification of the economy, businesses not related to town-forming organizations can become their residents. As the press service of the Chief Federal Inspector in the Republic informs, yesterday the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev announced on conferring the PDA status on Tolyatti.
Soon, this status can be received by Kumertau, where the main town-forming enterprise is Kumertau Aircraft Factory, and Belebey, famous for its cheese production. Management teams of these cities have successfully defended development strategy of their territories in Moscow. Today, the republic is ready to submit the applications of four cities more — Beloretsk with the main enterprise Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant, Neftekamsk ("NefAZ"), Blagoveshchensk ("Polief") and Uchaly (Uchalinsky Mining Plant). The population of these municipalities is 650 thousand people, representing about 16 percent of the total population of our republic. These areas produce about a quarter of the gross regional product.
