11 Bashkortostan natives will compete for Chaliapin Contest Grand Prix

The 1st International Chaliapin Competition, which will be held these days in Ufa, will be attended by 11 natives of Bashkortostan. Of these, nine will defend the honour of our republic, and two — of other regions, the jury secretary, vocal teacher Naila Yusupova informs.
These are the soloists of the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theatre Arthur Kaipkulov, Elina Galimullina, Rim Rakhimov, Salavat Kiekbaev, soloists of the Bashkir Philharmonic Society Dina Khusaenova, Aliya Iskuzhina and the students of the Ufa Institute of Arts Damir Taipov and Kirill Belov. The graduates of the Ufa College of Arts are also among the participants: Aigul Ahmetshina, Jana Akara (now student of the Gnesins Russian Academy of Music) and Aitugan Valmuhametov, studying in Kazan now.
The 1st International Fyodor Chaliapin Vocal Competition will bring together about 50 young singers from Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Krasnoyarsk, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Samara, Saratov, Ufa, Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, China and the United States. The exact figure will be known today after the registration and drawing procedure. The first round of the competition will start tomorrow at 12.00 in the Chaliapin Concert Hall characterized by splendid acoustics. Vocalists will be judged by the jury chaired by the opera star, native of Ufa, Bashkortostan's People's Artist Askar Abdrazakov.
The Grand Prix will be 300 thousand rubles.
