Industrial production grew by 1.8 percent in Bashkortostan in January-August

The industrial production index in the Republic of Bashkortostan in January-August reached the level of 101.8 percent compared to January-August 2015, nationwide — 100.4 percent, the regional department of Rosstat reports. In the regions of the Volga Federal District this figure ranges from 91.8 in the Republic of Mordovia to 112.8 percent in the Chuvash Republic.
Growth in output in Bashkortostan for the month and year to date is marked in the field of wood processing (40.7 percent in August 2015 and 37.7 percent compared to January-August 2015, respectively), chemical industry (35.7 and 5.1), metallurgy (28.9 and 21.6), manufacture of machinery and equipment (24.8 and 3.5), rubber and plastic products (5.2 and 15.2 ), electrical equipment (3.8 and 6.9).
In addition, in January-August, a positive trend in the production of leather and footwear (17.8 percent compared to January-August 2015), pulp and paper (5.9), extraction of fuel and energy minerals, generation and distribution of gas and water (+ 1.9-2), manufacture of food products (+0.7) is marked.
Reduced production volumes are observed in manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products (-15.4 percent compared to January-August 2015), the textile and clothing industry (-6.9), production of petroleum products (-2.5), vehicles and transport equipment (- 1.7).
