Second Ufa International Marathon was won by Ural runners

The II Ufa International Marathon took place in the capital of Bashkortostan on September 11. It was attended by 2653 athletes. All day the rain was pouring down and the start of International Marathon-2016 was accompanied by a strong downpour.

Last year's winner of the main marathon Ufa Master of Sports Eduard Tuhbatullin here became only the fourth. He ran slower than his championship schedule by almost four minutes. Three winners are from the Ural region. Alexey Nikonorov and Maxim Nikolnikov ran to the finish line with a result of 2 hours 22 minutes 26 seconds and 2 hours 22 minutes 58 seconds, respectively.

The third was the Chelyabinsk stayer from Tryokhgornoye Semen Karyagin, who improved the last year's champion time by 33 seconds.

The Paralympic champion Elena Pautova was a serious competitor for men — she finished the 42-kilometer distance the eighth, but the first among women.

Olga Pashagina from Ekaterinburg became the second among women marathon runners, the third place went to Ufa native Dinara Khismatullina.

The half-marathon race was won by Tagir Khayrullin from Ufa district. The second prize winner was the Ufa native Marat Zalyaev having conceded to the champion only seven seconds. Aydar Ishbuldin from Akyar finished three minutes later and became the bronze winner.

Also Olga Dedova from Perm finished the eighth and the first among women. The second women speed runner became Anastasia Petrova from Ufa. The third was Catherine Guschina also from Ufa.

Finally, at  10 km distance the whole pedestal was taken by Ufa runners including Anton Babikov, Benjamin Kanybekov and Andrey Matveev.
