Representatives of United States and Armenia will observe Duma elections in Bashkiria

In Bashkortostan, the international observation over preparation and conducting of deputies elections to the State Duma of the seventh convocation will be carried out by the OSCE representatives. As part of a long-term observer mission a representative of the USA Marsha Weinerman and a delegate from Armenia Oganez Kazaryan arrived in Ufa. On the election day up to 10 groups of short-term observers will join them. Total, according to Oganez Kazaryan, about 18 international observers will work in the republic.
The members of the OSCE mission conducted one of the first meetings with the secretary of the regional branch of the "United Russia" party — Konstantin Tolkachev. The election race involves 14 regional branches of political parties, although 58 electoral associations are registered in the republic. According to the speaker, the United Russia members in the region exceed the number of members of all other parties.
Oganez Kazarayan stressed that the mission was working in the region at the invitation of the Russian Government.
Marsha Weinerman was interested in how parties interacted with the Central Election Commission, the ways of campaigns holding. The representative of the United States expressed her desire to visit mass party activities. The United Russia members invited her at an event in Ufa on September 1 dedicated to the beginning of the academic year, and at a rally in the city of Salavat.
