UFA, 29 July 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Alexander Smirnov/. On July 28, in Ufa the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov and the President of the Russian Hockey Federation Vladislav Tretyak visited the "Fan Day" sports festival, which took place at the "Ufa-Arena".
“Hockey — is everything for us. It is, indeed, true for the Republic of Bashkortostan. We have a great team, great results. We have good, great future due to our schools, children's teams. I hope that the results will also be the best”, said Rustem Khamitov. “Prospects are quite foreseeable. In January, Ufa will host an All-Star Match. We together with you, dear fans, will organize a Hockey Week: youth teams, children, veteran, student teams will meet. This Week will end with the KHL All-Star Match. We are waiting for an intense, interesting season. It is always difficult to defend the gains. We wish our team wins, successes, and most importantly — a beautiful, imaginative, creative play.”
Rustem Khamitov and Vladislav Tretiak handed over to players of HC "Agidel" a silver medal of the Russian Championship among women's teams and to players of HC Salavat Yulaev – a bronze medal of the Kontinental Hockey League championship season 2015/2016.
“I am proud that I am with you, because today is a historic day. For the first time in Russian hockey we award medals of the Russian championship to two teams, men’s and women’s. This is a stunning success that has been achieved due to the leadership of the republic, the teams and you, dear fans, without which it would have never been hockey,” said Vladislav Tretiak.
During the festival the Head of the Republic awarded Vladislav Tretiak with the Order of Salavat Yulaev for many years of hard work in the field of physical culture and sports, as well as his great contribution to the development of hockey in Bashkortostan.
In the 2015-2016 season HC Salavat Yulaev won bronze medals in the championship of Russia. Women's hockey team "Agidel" in season 2015-2016 years became a silver medalist of the Women's Hockey League. The hockey players Olga Sosina, Elina Mitrofanova, Alexandra Kapustina and Anna Shibanova as part of the Russian team won bronze medals in ice hockey world championship among women in 2016.
