UFA, 26 July 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. On July 27, the Ufa "Oblaka" Contemporary Art Centre opens an exhibition of the famous sculptor Nikolay Kalinushkin. As the press-secretary of the centre Daria Malina informs, the exhibition includes his graphic and sculptural works created in different periods of life. The exhibition runs until September 1 at Bakalinski Street 3. Admission is free.
Nikolay Kalinushkin is the honoured artist of Russia and Bashkortostan, the author of the "Grieving Mother" memorial dedicated to the soldiers — natives of our republic died in local wars. In addition to his fruitful creative work, he taught drawing and sculpture at State Pedagogical University, Ufa State Institute of Arts. From 1991 to 1999 he headed the Union of Artists of the Republic of Bashkortostan, was the Chairman of the Board. Since 1988 on the initiative of Nikolay Kalinushkin, sculpture symposiums have been held in Ufa and other cities of Russia. As a result of their carrying out ensembles, individual groups of statues adorning Ufa appeared: near the State Academic Russian Drama Theatre, the Mechanical Engineering Recreational Centre, at Revolutionary Street. The talented sculptor passed away in April 2004, 56 years old, full of creative ideas and plans.
