Russian-Kazakh expedition will assess River Ural ecological state in Bashkiria

The Russian-Kazakhstan historical-cultural, ecological expedition over the River Ural basin arrives in Bashkortostan. The main tasks of the inspectors will be assessment of the ecological state of the reservoir, attracting children and youth to solution of environmental problems of the River Ural, promotion of tourist resources of the regions, development of friendly relations between the inhabitants of border regions of Russia and Kazakhstan.
This year the expedition is held for the 20th time. The travelers will visit the head of the River Ural in Uchaly region on July 23. Then, the route will pass through the territory of Bashkortostan, Orenburg region and Kazakhstan. The finish is planned in the Kazakh city of Atyrau.
In the framework of the "Ecology of Russia", "Clean Water" and "Open Republic" projects local activists in Uchaly area will join the expedition to assess the Ural River environmental state, to draw attention to eco-tourism and to promote environmental friendliness to the water resources, the regional office of "United Russia" informs.
15 years ago, the expedition acquired an international status — Russian-Kazakh. The joint campaign has become a powerful movement for the preservation and saving of the River Ural.
