Rustem Khamitov: "We would like to transform state enterprises into successful market participants"

The effectiveness of state unitary enterprises and business entities with state participation was discussed at the meeting of the Government of Bashkortostan chaired by the Head of the Region Rustem Khamitov.
Rustem Khamitov said that among the 70 state unitary enterprises of Bashkortostan only 41 companies received profit amounting in aggregate to about 500 million rubles, or slightly more than 10 million rubles on average per enterprise. In 22 companies the total amount of the loss amounted to 1 billion rubles. The two companies have worked with a zero result, five — do not conduct financial and economic activity.
Among measures to increase state unitary enterprises efficiency proposed by the Ministry of Land and Property Relations RB - is to entrust it with certain powers of relevant ministries and departments, including the right to make personnel decisions in respect of directors and chief accountants of unprofitable state unitary enterprises, to approve different transactions, borrowing, etc.
The Head of the Republic noted that the Government planned to appeal to the law enforcement authorities to carry out appropriate checks in number of enterprises to investigate into the situation how organizations which were successful in the past turned out to be on the verge of bankruptcy.
