On July 12, the Head of the Republic Rustem Khamitov held an expanded meeting of the Interagency Council under the Government RB on Family, Motherhood, Fatherhood and Childhood Issues, devoted to the Family Policy Concept implementation. It was attended by members of the Government of Bashkortostan, representatives of the scientific community and public organizations.
Last year, the Russian Government approved an action plan of the first phase of the federal Family Policy Concept until 2025, which ends in 2018. In Bashkortostan, a similar concept at the regional level was adopted.
The Head of the Republic said that more than 5 billion rubles were allocated in the framework of modernization of public health programs in 2011-2016 to strengthen the obstetric aid system. In recent years, a diagnostic building of the Republican Children's Hospital, "Mother and Child" Clinical Hospital were built, the Republican Neonatal Centre operates. This year the Republican Perinatal Centre will be put into operation. All these measures will help to improve the overall demographic situation.
Last year in Bashkortostan the problem of waiting lists to kindergartens for children from three to seven years was solved. Now the work is being conducted on reducing waiting lists for toddlers under three years. Schools of the republic should transfer to one shift operation by 2025. To start this program more than 500 million rubles have been already received from the federal budget, 2 billion rubles will be allocated from the republican budget.
This year summer camps will be able to improve health of 334,000 children in the republic. Funding for this program involves more than 1.5 billion rubles.
The Head of the Region noted that the system solution of family, motherhood, fatherhood and childhood issues at the federal level a Coordination Council under the Government of the Russian Federation was established. Rustem Khamitov proposed to discuss a feasibility of establishing such a body in Bashkortostan instead of the existing Interagency Council.
