Young Bashkiria athletes take part in Children of Asia Games in Yakutsk

Young sportsmen of Bashkortostan, representatives of intellectual sports, participate in the Sixth International Sports Games "Children of Asia" in Yakutsk. Six athletes represent our republic at the competitions.
The Games involved 39 countries; Russia is represented by two teams from the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the teams of the Far Eastern, Siberian and Ural Federal Districts, as well as athletes from Bashkortostan, Tatarstan and Moscow. Total about three thousand athletes will perform in Yakutia.
Medals in such sports as football, basketball, boxing, volleyball, wrestling, sports and gymnastics, judo, kuresh, athletics, weight-wrestling, table tennis, weightlifting, swimming, shooting, trap shooting, archery, taekwondo, hapsagay, checkers, chess and Yakut national jumping will be competed for.
The International Sports Games "Children of Asia" are held once every four years since 1996. The main objectives of the Games are strengthening of friendship between the children of the Asian continent and the Russian Federation; revealing the strongest sportsmen for reserve training in the Olympic teams of the Asian countries and the Russian Federation; development and promotion of adaptive physical culture and sports; development and promotion of national sports of peoples of the Asian continent.
