Bashkir ballerina became winner of "Young Ballet of the World" international competition in Sochi

The soloist of the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theatre Liliya Zainigabdinova became the winner of the 6th Yuri Grigorovich International Competition "Young Ballet of the World". 62 contestants from Russia, the USA, South Africa, Armenia, Ukraine, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Japan arrived in Sochi. The performer of the leading roles at Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theatre won the 3rd prize and a bronze medal. Also the performance by Liliya Zainigabdinova and the soloist of the Bashkir Theatre, the Honoured Artist RB Oleg Shaibakov «Comanche» (The Revells) was marked as the best in the jazz category, the press service of the Ministry of Culture RB informs.
This year's competition was dedicated to the famous Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev. Each of the participants had to perform one of the acts of the program under the music of Prokofiev. In addition to classical dance, the participants demonstrated skills in modern dancing, folk dancing and even dancing to the music of classic jazz.
The Russian and foreign choreographers and ballet masters assisted the maître of Russian Ballet Yuri Grigorovich to judge young dancers. According to experts, the "Young Ballet of the World" is a significant competition in the field of ballet art focused on young dancers promotion.
