Industrial production rose by 0.5 percent in Bashkortostan in January-May

The industrial production index in the Republic of Bashkortostan since the beginning of the year amounted to 100.5 percent compared to January-May 2015, nationwide — 100.1 percent, according to Bashkortostan Statistics Agency.
In the regions of the Volga Federal District, this figure ranges from 87.5 percent in the Republic of Mordovia to 114.6 percent in the Chuvash Republic.
Positive trend is observed in wood processing (33.5 percent), manufacture of leather, leather goods and footwear (23.4 percent), rubber and plastic products (17.7 percent), pulp and paper, publishing and printing activity, metallurgical production (15 percent), manufacture of electrical equipment (4.5 percent), machinery and equipment (2.8 percent), food products (1.1 percent), transport equipment (+0.2 percent). Extraction of fuel and energy minerals rose by 1.9 percent, generation and distribution of electricity, gas and water — by 1.3 percent.
At the same time reduction in production volumes is observed in manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products (-21.9 percent), extraction of minerals, except for fuel and energy (-12.3 percent), textiles and textile products (-7.9 percent), production of petroleum products (-3 percent), chemical production (-1 percent).
