For the first time Ufa university entered Shanghai Global Rankings of Universities

Ufa State Aviation Technical University is one of three Russian universities included in the Shanghai Global Rankings of Engineering Subjects, according to the website of RIA Novosti.
For the first time in the Shanghai rankings, in addition to the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow Engineering Physics Institute and presented Ufa State Aviation Technical University.
"For the first time a regional university was in the same group with Moscow State University testifying to the equal opportunities of the Russian universities, regardless of their history and status", said the head of the project "Social Navigator" of the "Russia Today" Media Group Natalia Tyurina.
She also noted that this year for the first time in the ranking universities were evaluated in seven engineering areas. Among them there were chemical engineering, civil engineering, electronics and electrical engineering, power engineering and power-plant engineering, scientific and technical support of environmental protection, material science and engineering.
While making rankings of educational institutions for engineering and technical subjects there are taken into account indicators of scientific activity, scientific achievements, level of research activity in comparison with the average around the world, international co-operation and collaboration with the private sector, citation, as well as academic awards and international awards. Total the ranking included more than 730 higher education institutions from 55 countries.
American universities topped the ranking in all subject areas and in number of universities included in it: Princeton University, Stanford University, Harvard University, University of California at Berkeley and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Good results were also shown by the UK universities, China, Singapore and South Korea universities.
