Russian mayors will share experience at 4th Forum of Best Municipal Practices in Ufa

From 16 to 18 June Ufa will host the 4th Forum of Best Municipal Practices. This is a form of work of the Russian Cities Union — a platform where mayors can meet and discuss all topical issues, share practical knowledge and experience.

The event program includes: the award of winners the "Best Municipal Practices" on the results of Internet voting, agreements signing, a plenary session, workshops, work sections on housing and utilities issues, interaction of local authorities with NGOs and volunteers, creating resources to interact with the population, use of advanced technology in design and implementation of municipal policies.

Seven city sights are planned to visit by the participants of the forum, including: Mustai Karim Monument,  "Mother and Child" clinic, "VDNKh" exhibition complex, "UMPO" and "BESK" companies, "Festival" and "Smart House" residential developments,  "PromTsentr" Industrial Park as well as treatment facilities, public gardens and parks, and educational institutions.

As previously reported, the first Forum was held in 2013 in Penza. It was attended by 55 representatives of municipalities that have submitted 35 practices. The second Forum was held in Grozny in 2014 and brought together 120 participants and 150 practices. Its feature was a participation of representatives of rural and urban settlements along with large cities.  The 3rd Forum, organized in Perm last year, gathered a record number of participants — more than 400 people, and the geography of the event also significantly expanded.
