Swiss pensioners choir sang a song in Bashkir at Sabantuy in Geneva

A Bashkir-Tatar Sabantuy Festival was held with great success in Geneva. About 400 people attended the national holiday in the park of «Silk Road» restaurant. Guests from European countries — Switzerland, Italy, France, Germany, Great Britain, Sweden, Chile, South Korea, and immigrants from Russia and other CIS countries, as well as Bashkortostan and Tatarstan came at the feast. The diaspora living in Switzerland received greetings from the Executive Committee of the Kurultai of Bashkirs, the Plenipotentiary Representative Office of Bashkortostan Republic under the President RF.
The guests were offered an extensive concert program, with Bashkir and Tatar songs and instrumental music. Especially for the holiday Swiss residents sang a song in the Bashkir language. Children — members of the "Dance like Nureyev" school-studio under the direction of Guzel Usmanova, performed a Bashkir dance. A Bashkir music on guitar was played by the head of the «Zaman» ethno-band Radmir Muftahin.
An exhibition and sale of national souvenirs and handicrafts, traditional dishes of the Bashkir and Tatar cuisine and sports entertainments for adults and children were organized. The participants could taste Bashkir honey, buy jewelry from Bashkir stones. The highlight of the holiday was a fiery Ritaim and Bishbarmak-party to the Bashkir music.
The Organizer of the Sabantuy was the "Yuldash" Association of Tatars and Bashkirs of Switzerland.
