On May 5 in Ufa, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov met with the President of the Kontinental Hockey League Dmitry Chernyshenko. During the meeting the sides discussed issues of preparation for the Kontinental Hockey League All-Star Game in 2017 in Ufa.
“I would like to express my immense gratitude and appreciation to the Kontinental Hockey League as a whole for the work you are doing, and for choosing Ufa as a place to host the Kontinental Hockey League All-Star Game. It is a landmark, a great event for us. We are definitely excited about this decision, and, of course, we will make every effort to ensure that the hockey festival in Ufa will be held at the highest level”, Rustem Khamitov said.
The head of the region noted that the support of hockey in the region will continue, including in terms of facilities improving.
“With regard to the All-Star Game, it was easy and pleasant to make this choice due to the high level of competitions you hold. From the point of view of the program that youoffered, it was really the best proposal”, underlined Dmitry Chernyshenko. “You offered not a single event, but a whole series of events. This creates a very important precedent that goes far beyond the usual understanding of the All-Star Game, which used to be perceived as a kind of one-time event. The best players of the Kontinental Hockey League will display the best show here. We'll make it so that the fans will have an opportunity to talk with them with autograph sessions, to attract more kids, fans of our beloved sport. I am confident that with your vast experience in organizing international events you will succeed. You have an excellent infrastructure. This can only dream of.
