UFA, 29 April 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. Russians will have quite long May holidays. In accordance with the Labour Code of the country, May 1 – the Holiday of Spring and Labour, and May 9 — Victory Day — are non-working holidays.
This year, the day off from Saturday January 2 is transferred on Tuesday, May 3.
In 2016, the public holiday of May 1 falls on Sunday. Accordingly, the day off from Sunday, May 1, is transferred to Monday, May 2.
Thus, at a five-day working week the days off due to public holidays are: April 30, May 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9. The working hours on Friday, April 29 and May 6, 2016 are not reduced.
As the press service of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Bashkortostan informs, at providing basic annual or additional annual paid leave the public holidays of May 1 and 9 are not included in the number of calendar days of the leave.
