UFA, 20 April 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/. Employees of the Bashkortostan Customs prevented illegal export of thermonuclear generator to Kazakhstan. Violators intended to take advantage of absence of customs control at the border and export duty free a neutron generator containing "Tritium" radioactive isotope to the neighbouring state.
The officers of the Customs Service established that in 2012 suspects delivered six similar devices, "saving" more than 5 million rubles on non-payment of fees.
"The equipment is covered by the" List of Dual-Use Materials" and "Technologies Used for Nuclear Purposes List". Import and export of such goods is carried out only under license of the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control. A criminal case is initiated investigated by the Federal Security Service Directorate in Bashkortostan", the Bashkortostan Customs reports.
