Ella Pamfilova, the former Commissioner for Human Rights, is elected the Chairman of the new structure of the Russian Central Election Commission. She succeeded Vladimir Churov on this position. The election was held at the first meeting of the new structure of the Central Election Commission on March 28, according to RBC.
In addition to Ella Pamfilova Sergey Sirotkin also aspired to the post of the Chairman of the Commission. Only one vote was cast for him. Total the CEC includes 15 members with a casting vote — five members under the quota of the State Duma, five — under the quota of the Federation Council, the last "five" was appointed by the President. The Ex-Chairman of the Central Election Commission Vladimir Churov was not included in the new structure of the Commission.
