Tourists from Bashkiria continue to fly to Turkey

UFA, 27 January 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. Tourists from Bashkortostan continue to fly to Turkey independently. This was reported on January 27 at a meeting with journalists by the general director of Sputnik-Yuldash Travel Agency Viktor Romanov.

“The Turkish Airlines lost a large passenger flow and looking for opportunities to reorient passengers to other destinations. The routes to Southeast Asia are under consideration, which are in demand. The airlines are ready to adjust the fares for our republic,” said the head of the tourist company.

Turkish Airlines are developing special offers and alternative destinations for Bashkir tourists.

"We know that tourists, who prefer vacations in Antalya, begin to go there in late April — early May. Closer to this period we will develop a special scale of fares for passengers who prefer to travel independently not through travel agencies. In recent years, there is a tendency of independent trips abroad — buying tickets, booking of hotels. We hope that the number of such tourists will increase. We will make our special offers for them. Ultimately, we as carriers are interested in providing a good alternative to the people of the region so that they can have a good rest. If the number of such proposals increase everyone will benefit ", said the deputy director of the airlines Bulat Sabirov.

According to him, an option of regional government subsidies of air services is considered. Basically regional airlines are rendered assistance. It is planned to raise an issue to subsidize and international companies too, including by providing discounts on airport charges. The air hub, due to antitrust legislation cannot do this by itself.

As Bashinform News Agency reported the passenger traffic on the route "Ufa — Istanbul — Ufa" fell by 50%, and the cost of tickets pegged to the euro rose by 10-15%.
