UFA, 21 December 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. In Bashkortostan this week the powerful Atlantic cyclone will replace short-term frosts and cause an abnormally warm weather. Instead winter weather forecasters of the Republican Agency of Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring promise autumn weather in the region with the air temperature by 7-10 degrees Celsius above normal. Wet snow, in some places blizzard, ice-slick, strong winds are expected.
On December 22, the day of winter solstice, the temperatures during the day will be from zero to -10 degrees. There will be a wet snow, sometimes heavy. Moderate winds, in some areas blizzard, ice-slick, wet snow build-up on wires and trees, snow drifts on the roads are forecast.
On December 23, the mercury will rise above zero: +1, -4 degrees in the daytime, -1 -6 at night. Snow and rain mixed will continue with possible weak storm and ice-slick. By the end of the week, daytime temperatures in the region will be positive, declining towards the week-end.
Extreme thaw and slushy weather dominates now in many regions of Russia. In Moscow, historical temperature records of 1936 and 1982 are recorded, Met Office of the Russian Federation reports.
