It is not planned to make major amendments to the law relating to elections to the State Duma during the spring session. Vladimir Churov, the head of the Russian Central Election Commission told the journalists in Ufa. The main organizer of the elections in the country defined tasks of the forthcoming formation of the State Duma of the seventh convocation.
"The electoral legislation remains stable. Major changes have already been made before", Vladimir Churov assured journalists. At the same time the head of the Central Election Commission did not rule out a possibility of "some technical revisions". In particular, ones to eliminate the discrepancy between the law on elections of the State Duma deputies, which was modernized and the Law on basic guarantees of electoral rights and the right to participate in referendums. The articles of the law will be brought into line.
"It may be even minor technical adjustments. In this case, we follow an international custom — major amendments to the law are not made a year before the elections", said the head of the department.
